This is the second package on the WWII Weapons project, concluding the small arms series. It is composed by 15 extremely well detailed rifles, submachine guns and pistols, covering the soldiers’ armament of the three principal nations involved in the so-called “Axis Alliance”. The next package, 3rd in the WWII Weapons series, shall be dedicated to machine guns, both Allied and Axis.
What is included:
15 Poser ready gun props (of which four have posable parts)
20 detailed texture maps
20 templates in jpg format
The weapons included in this package are (by country of origin):
M_Kar 98k rifle
FG42 assault rifle
MP40 (Schmeisser) submachine gun
MP44 assault rifle
LP_P08-Navy pistol (long barreled version of P08)
MC_38 rifle (*)
B_Modello 38/42 submachine gun
B_Modello 1934 pistol
(*) The very one that was allegedly used in President Kennedy’s assassination.
Arisaka 99 rifle
Meiji 38th Year Carbine
Japan 100/44 submachine gun (extremely rare)
Taisho 14 pistol
They have been made with maniac attention to detail in Wings3D and have been textured with great care by myself. Templates are included in case you would like to try your own hand with textures.
In order to avoid trademark issues some of the weapons’ names have been slightly altered, especially those made by manufacturing houses still in operation today, but I am confident that arm connoisseurs would recognize those right away.
This product has been tested extensively in Poser 5 but it would work fine with other versions of the program. It has not been tested on Mac, but chances are that it should work fine on this platform.
NOTE FOR POSER 5 USERS:
Do not forget to verify that the "Smooth Polygons" option is left unchecked when rendering in firefly, otherwise some very strange "inflation effects" may occur.
