Product Description

Historically, E-boat was the British and American term for the World War II German Schnellboot (S-Boot), a small fast torpedo boat of approximately double the size of an American PT boat and the British MTB. It is believed that the E stood for "Enemy". Compared to the Allied craft, the E-boats were better suited for the open sea and had a substantially longer range at approximately 700 nautical miles.

E-boats were used in the English Channel to intercept shipping heading for the English ports in the south and east. As such they would be up against Royal Navy and Commonwealth contingents in Motor Gun Boats (MGBs) and Motor Torpedo Boats (MTBs) and Motor Launches and destroyers.

The only surviving E-boat is the S-130. This is privately owned but in the care of the British Military Powerboat Trust in Southampton, England.

The S-130 was commissioned on October 21st 1943 and took an active part in the war, participating in the Exercise Tiger attack and attacks on the D-day invasion fleet.

The model is very highly detailed, and the product contains four textured resolutions of the model.

This model is a 3DMax model, saved in version 8 as a MAX file, and requires 3DMax. It does not include any other formats to allow it to be opened in any other software. The model is rigged where appropriate, and mapped and textured.
