Product Description
In the United States and Britain, the 2-6-4 locomotive type was named the Pacific as the first locomotives of the style were shipped across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand.
New Zealand Railways (NZR) was the first to purchase and operate 2-6-4 locomotives, in 1901, with an order for 13 Q class locomotives. Upon completion, the locomotives had to be shipped across the Pacific Ocean, hence the name. The reason for the design was that a locomotive with a large firebox was required to burn poor lignite coal from the South Island.
The success of the 2-6-4 design can be attributed to the presence of a four-wheel leading truck, which made for stability at speed; six driving wheels, which allowed for the application of more power than the earlier 4-4-2 "Atlantic" design; and a two-wheel trailing truck, which permitted the firebox to be behind the high driving wheels, allowing it to be both wide and deep.
.: Product Features :. All wheels can rotate around. Accurately moving wheel mechanisms: all of the arms (and the two pistons) move as the wheels turn. All mechanisms are linked with ERC dials and will move automatically as you turn the wheels. Scaled to the same size of the other Vanishing Point trains (and rail sections) for Poser.
.: Product Files :. One Steam Locomotive 2-6-4 Poser figure (obj, cr2, png/ rsr, no textures are needed), with close to 300,000 polygons. One short rail section (obj, cr2, png/ rsr, textures) with instructions on how to place it in the scene. Six poses to resize the Steam Locomotive (and rails) to the most-common toy train sizes... and back to full-size. Listed in order of size, from largest to smallest: -Full-size pose: resets the size of the model to 100% scale. -"O" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of a "O"-scale toy train. This is the size of the "Lionel" branded toy trains. -"S" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "S"-scale toy train. -"HO" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "HO"-scale toy train. -"N-Gauge" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "N-Gauge" toy train. -"Z" Scale: resizes the model to the approximate size of an "Z"-scale toy train. This is the smallest scale toy train.
Notes: This model is not designed to be retextured, but templates for all materials are included. The rail section and poses are the same files that are found in the "Train Set 1" and "Train Set 2" products. They are included so you can create your own train scenes without needing either of these products. The Steam Locomotive uses a "noise" procedural texture to add detail and may not render properly in Poser 4.

Very detailed and highly reccomended. There`s even a basic cab. The only things I would like to have seen are (A)some texture maps and (B) some type of Python script to simplify the animation. All the parts indeed move, but it is necessary to animate each separate component (there are many), making animation and posing of the drivers, side rods, etc. very cumbersome.
