Skull was an aircraft in the 89th F.S., 80th F.G.
There is some controversy associated with this aircraft.
It is beleived that the original artwork included a full skull on the cowling, but either through battle
damage or mishap the engine panel and radio cover was replaced.
As to what is on the starboard side of the fighter is pure guesswork as there seems to be no documentation of it. Because of this I have chosen to do a mirror image of the skull on the staboard side. The engine cowling on the starboard side has not been done in the color of the replacement as it seems only one side was replaced. This P-40 flew in India in 1944.
