Description/ Notes: |
At the outbreak of the Solinoid Conflict the Unified Military (under United Nations command) was still rushing to complete development of the new VGF-Type fighters. In the interim, conventional aircraft such as the VT-1 filled in the arsenals of front-line combat units. Designed by Earth Avionics on the frame of the F-14D Tomcat, the VT-1 Supercat featured Vectored Thrust and a heavier weapons load-out, though some-what shortened range compared to its predecessor.
Ultimately the VT-1 would be used as the basis for the VGF-14 Wildcat Variable Geometry Fighter family, and this in turn would lead to the YF-35 Warthog Development Program and the AVF-35 J Wildhog Advanced Variable Fighter (intended originally to be an upgrade package for the VGF-14). Though replaced by the VGF-14 Wildcat in front-line service, the VT-1 remains in use as an Air Superiority Fighter in various countries under UN Military Command.
