Product Description

The Lockheed Constellation (Connie) was a four piston-engine propeller-driven airliner built by Lockheed between 1943 and 1958 at its Burbank, California, USA, facility. A total of 856 aircraft were produced in four models, all distinguished by a triple-tail design and dolphin-shaped fuselage. The Constellation was used as a civilian airliner and as a U.S. military air transport plane, seeing service in the Berlin Airlift. It was the presidential aircraft for U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

When I was a little boy, I received a model of this plane for Christmas. It was made of "tin"; it was heavy; it had sharp parts (back when toys were "unsafe" but still lots of fun); and I loved it. Thanks to the artists for giving me back a part of my childhood with this wonderful model. Now I can play with it in the digital skies.

I had actually found a free mesh for this online, but after considering the amount of time I would have spent editing the mesh and rigging it for animation, I decided that for $10, this was a good buy. The "Connie" has always been one of my favorite aircraft, and while the detail on this model is not quite as much as one would like, for the low price it is definitely more than acceptable.
