Product Description
Crocodiles are referred to as electrolokomotives, which consist of two longer stems with the drive axles and motors, as well as an articulated middle part, which usually takes up leading stands and transformers. The original name Krokodil is derived from the SBB Ce 6 / 8II and SBB Ce 6 / 8III series from SBB, which were developed by Oerlikon Machinefabrik for heavy goods train use, especially on the steep Gotthardbahn. In order to make the required size mobile in the tight corners, the car body was divided and moved. The triad in "snout", "body" and "tail", the rotating motions of the domes and the green color, which are reminiscent of the gait of a crocodile, may have contributed mainly to the development of the nickname.
