Product Description
Historically, E-boat was the British and American term for the World War II German Schnellboot (S-Boot), a small fast torpedo boat of approximately double the size of an American PT boat and the British MTB. It is believed that the E stood for "Enemy". Compared to the Allied craft, the E-boats were better suited for the open sea and had a substantially longer range at approximately 700 nautical miles.
E-boats were used in the English Channel to intercept shipping heading for the English ports in the south and east. As such they would be up against Royal Navy and Commonwealth contingents in Motor Gun Boats (MGBs) and Motor Torpedo Boats (MTBs) and Motor Launches and destroyers.
The only surviving E-boat is the S-130. This is privately owned but in the care of the British Military Powerboat Trust in Southampton, England.
The S-130 was commissioned on October 21st 1943 and took an active part in the war, participating in the Exercise Tiger attack and attacks on the D-day invasion fleet.
.: Product Features :.
ERC dials on the body tab: a) Steering (link to the bridge wheel and rudders) b) Props (rotation of the three props) c) FireTorpedo (controls the torpedo and tube flap) d) DropDepthCharge (drops the depth charge and moves the others into place) e) AnimateFlag (turning this dial will animate the flag)
There are also dials on the individual body parts to control the machine gun, anti-aircraft gun, two doors, two lids, spotlight, torpedo tube flaps and the two levers in the bridge. The torpedoes and lifeboats can be made invisible (these are available separately, for free, as props for animation)
The model is highly detailed, and contains, for instance, 3600 individually modelled bolts and nuts. The model is UV mapped (by projection mapping) and textured and scaled to Poser figures.

Very nice. Like the way everything works. Have plans to use it in a period setting, or one close to it. Any plans in mind for an S-Boat?
