Product Description
The civil DKW car of the Auto Union firm was widely used by German Army during WW2.
During 1932 four motor manufacturers of Saxony, Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer amalgamated under the pressures of the depressed German economy to form "AUTO UNION" – therefore the four ringed emblem, which is still to be seen in the modern AUDI logo.
The DKW F7 and DKW F8 were very popular during World War II because of their economy and for the ability to consume all sorts of petrol/paraffin mixtures at the time when petrol was rationed.
The "F" indicated "Front" for front wheel drive. Power was transmitted by means of a duplex chain to the transmission, which was positioned ahead of the engine. This car proved a success, especially due to its remarkable performance as a racer on very slippery surfaces. It was powered by a 600 cc twin cylinder inline water cooled two-stroke engine of 11 kW.
This Poser version is fully rigged for animation, and features opening doors, rotating and turning wheels, lifting engine hoods, winding windows and window winders, moveable seats, wipers, gear levers, handbrake and door handles. Fully UV mapped and textured, it is a dream to animate. All controls are on the "body" tab. There are two versions included in the file, a Poser 4 version using UV mapped textures and reflection maps, and a Poser 5/6 version using some shaders. The Poser 5/6 version must be rendered in Firefly for the reflections to work.
