Product Description
Steam locomotives often haul a tender, which is a special railroad car (or coal-cars) designed to hold the locomotive`s fuel (wood, coal, or oil) and water. Steam locomotives consume large quantities of both fuel and water, so tenders are necessary to keep the locomotive running over long distances. A locomotive that pulls a tender is called a tender locomotive. Locomotives that do not have tenders and carry all their fuel and water on board the locomotive itself are called tank engines.

Poser figure model (obj, cr2, rsr/ png): contains 17,913 polygons; front and rear wheel carriages can rotate.
Scaled to the same size as the other Vanishing Point trains, rails, and railroad buildings.
Textures/ MAT Poses
Union Railways (dark gray with yellow stripe)
Sante Fa (dark blue with red stripe)
JHA Coal Transport (gray)
Includes "rivet" bump map to simulate the look of rivets.
Templates for all materials are included.
A "short rail" model is included, though this is the same rail model which is included in the other train sets.
Although this is a stand-alone product, we highly recommend you use this with the Train Set 1, Steam Locomotive 2-6-4, and the sections of rail included in those other products.
Note: all "resize" poses for use with the other train cars will also work with this model.

[Artist`s note: Thanks for the feedback. The reason this model wasn`t included with the Steam Locomotive was because Jose DeEspona didn`t build that model with a coal tender. Whenever we convert a model, we try to stay as close as possible to the original version. Though I`ll admit that at the time I converted the Steam Locomotive, I completely forgot that this kind of engine would need a coal tender. :) ]

A nice-looking model - am not sure why this wasn`t included with the Steam Locomotive 2-6-4. Also, it`s a bit large when loaded. I scaled mine to 90% overall and 106% along the x-axis in order to make it look more to scale with the Steam Locomotive 2-6-4. You`ll also want to put "Y-Tran" at 1.05 so it sits on the tracks properly.
What worked for me the best was to load the tender, position it behind the Steam Locomotive, scale it to the correct proportions, parent it to the Steam Locomotive then save it to the library, overwriting the original .cr2 file.
Textures: The MAT 3 matches the Steam Locomotive best, and the MAT 1 looks very sharp (a matching texture for the Steam Loco would be nice). The MAT 2 is a loss.
I docked it a point because I wasn`t able to use it "out of the box," but with a little tweaking, its a nice model - obviously a lot of work went into it.
